Riot Games has released Patch 10.06 for VALORANT. This VALORANT update makes KAY/O stronger, reduces Yoru’s ability use, and adjusts Vyse’s skills. There are also some bug fixes to improve VALORANT gameplay. Let’s go over all the changes in this VALORANT patch.
Chart: Ability Changes in Patch 10.06
Agent | Ability | Change Description |
---|---|---|

KAY/O | NULL/cmd | Revive time reduced to 1.5s from 3s |
Yoru | Fakeout | Cost increased from 100 to 200 credits |
Vyse | Razorvine | Duration reduced from 10s to 7s |
Vyse | Shear | Wall duration reduced from 8s to 6s |
KAY/O Buffs: Stronger and More Useful
KAY/O gets several improvements in this VALORANT patch. These changes make his abilities more useful and help him in fights.
FLASH/DRIVE (Flash Ability) Changes
- KAY/O’s flashes now take 0.8 seconds to explode after bouncing off a surface. Enemies will hear a warning sound before it goes off.
- If the flash is about to explode in less than 0.8 seconds after bouncing, there is no extra delay.
- The underhand (right-click) flash now lasts 1.5 seconds instead of 1.25 seconds.
- The “flashing” voice callout can now be heard from 50 meters instead of 20 meters.
- KAY/O can switch back to his weapon faster after flashing. It now takes 0.6 seconds instead of 0.85 seconds.
- A new minimap indicator shows teammates where KAY/O’s flash will land.
These changes make KAY/O’s flashes easier to use and more effective in VALORANT fights.
NULL/cmd (Ultimate Ability) Buffs
- The time needed to revive a teammate is now 1.5 seconds instead of 3 seconds.
This makes KAY/O’s ultimate more helpful for bringing teammates back into the fight quickly in VALORANT matches.
Yoru Nerfs: A Small Weakening
Yoru is getting a small nerf in this VALORANT update.
Fakeout Cost Increase
- Yoru’s Fakeout ability now costs 200 credits instead of 100.
This change means Yoru players will have to think more carefully about when to use Fakeout in VALORANT.
Vyse Adjustments: Shorter Ability Times
Vyse’s abilities are now a little weaker, so she can’t control areas for too long in VALORANT.
Razorvine (Ability) Nerf
- Razorvine now lasts 7 seconds instead of 10 seconds.
Shear (Ability) Nerf
- The wall created by Shear now lasts 6 seconds instead of 8 seconds.
These changes make it easier for enemies to challenge Vyse and move around the VALORANT map.

Bug Fixes and Improvements
Riot Games also fixed several bugs in this VALORANT update. Here are some of the important ones:
- Fixed a bug where some agents could use abilities while defusing the spike.
- Fixed an issue where projectiles could sometimes go through walls.
- Fixed a problem where ability sounds were delayed, making them harder to react to.
- Fixed a bug where players would get stuck in a crouch-walking animation after switching weapons.
- Fixed an issue where enemy markers on the minimap would sometimes disappear.
These fixes make VALORANT more stable and fair for everyone.
How These Changes Affect the Game
The biggest change in Patch 10.06 is KAY/O’s buffs. His better flashes and faster ultimate revive will likely make him a stronger choice in VALORANT team games. Players who liked other initiators, like Skye or Breach, might now pick KAY/O more often.
Yoru players will need to manage their money better since Fakeout is now more expensive. This might make his tricks a little less common in VALORANT matches.
Vyse’s nerfs mean that attackers won’t have to wait as long to push through her abilities. She will still be useful but won’t be able to hold areas for too long in VALORANT.
Final Thoughts
Patch 10.06 makes some important balance changes but does not change VALORANT too much. KAY/O is now stronger, Yoru’s Fakeout is more expensive, and Vyse’s abilities don’t last as long. Bug fixes also make VALORANT run more smoothly.
It will be interesting to see how VALORANT players adapt to these changes. Will KAY/O become a popular pick? How will Yoru players handle the higher Fakeout cost? Time will tell.
